Summary: Developed a specialized cable management system for a peristaltic crawler that deploys gamma radiation detectors beneath nuclear waste tanks at Hanford Nuclear Reservation. The integrated reel features pneumatic and electrical rotary connections, a guide subsystem for orderly cable management, and an indexing mechanism to track deployed cable length for precise positioning. This system enables accurate detection and location of potential radioactive leaks in lateral shafts. Successfully tested at the Cold Test Facility, the solution exceeded Washington River Protection Solutions' requirements and established a foundation for future automated deployment and data collection.
